Real Wedding: Michael and Gabbi

I know I am way behind on posting this Castle McCulloch wedding from July 2011… but better late than never, right?

Michael and Gabbi are two of the most original people I have ever met. They are both very creative and unique and I knew as soon as I met them that I would love helping them on their wedding day.

I met with Gabbi a year before she decided to hire me. She did much of the planning and then quickly got overwhelmed and knew she needed some help for the wedding…. Sound familiar? It happens all the time!

Held at Castle McCullough, their wedding was full of personal touches…including centerpieces that the bride and groom made themselves as well as potted plants as wedding favors! Their wedding was “green” and the guests had a wonderful time. The castle was decked out with wrapped vines and a potted tree for their “Tree Ceremony”. The girls all wore 1940’s inspired hair do’s and the guys were looking good in their fedoras…. Did I mention how unique this couple was?

The couple’s family was wonderful as well. The bride’s father, a fire fighter, did a lot of the outside décor for dinner and the groom’s mother hired us to also take care of the rehearsal dinner at Steak Street.

It was a wonderful weekend that we enjoyed being a part of.

When Jason offered to walk Andrea back to her dorm after meeting at a Halloween party during their freshmen year at Pfeiffer University, they knew that it was “it”… and so began their “happily ever after”. When they hired us to come aboard, it was still early in the engagement and we got to know them very well over the course of many, many months. We shared nachos at Moes! and latte’s at Starbucks as we went over linens, colors, menus, music, and so on…. we are so thankful to have been part of their process and wish them well ! Here is their wedding story ….. Jason and Andrea had a very clear vision of what they wanted on their wedding day, a personal, special and intimate celebration.

The flowers, from Flowers By Candlelight , were simple and stunning.

The pure white buds and the flicker of the candles added to the ambiance at their elegant Black & White Affair. (more…)

Tyler and Heather say “I Do”

Getting married in a castle…… a real-life fairytale for Tyler and Heather!

Tyler and Heather got hitched on Saturday at Castle McCulloch in Jamestown.  Tyler’s fair lady, Heather,  looked absolutely stunning and was calm and collected the entire day. The Castle and grounds were covered with beautiful flowers and candles. The day was lovely and everyone involved had a great time!  Merrymaking Events is thankful to have been invited as part of the planning process for such an important day.

We wish Heather and her knight in shining armor all the luck and love in their new life together!

We would like to give a special thanks to Neal at  Shutterbooth, Bert from Bert Reed Photography, and DJ Paul Cordts for the great job on keeping the party going. You guys are awesome!
