To veil or not to veil…

5 May

As summer approaches, so do the outdoor weddings. I love being outside, in Mother Nature, enjoying the natural splendor of the outdoors. The perfect outdoor wedding includes a gentle breeze, a few white clouds to block the harshness of the sun, and lots of shady trees. I think what I like most about outdoors weddings is the casualness. They are not as formal as say, a big, full-mass, Catholic ceremony. They tend to be a little more laid back, and a little more relaxing (except if the weather doesn’t cooperate!)

So, the question I got the other day from a bride who is getting married outdoors this summer is, “Do I have to wear a veil?”

Hair accessories

Of course no one HAS to wear anything that they don’t want to at their own wedding! I think she was asking because it is such a tradition, but yet she wanted something different….yet something special. A nice option is to still so something in her hair to make her feel fancy, but not a veil. There are so many options now-a-days with barrettes, flowers, feathers, crystals, embellishments and more! Just Google “Wedding Hair Accessories” and have at it! Get creative and find the look that suits you!

I love these ideas. I am getting married on the beach and didn’t want a veil because of the problems it could cause with the breeze… I still wanted something in my hair to make me feel like a ‘bride.’ A flower would be nice, but is there anything else you can suggest for a beach wedding?
