Abbie + Kasey : Moore Springs Manor in Westfield, NC

12 Oct

AKWedding_201501122When you meet Abby & Kasey, you instantly like them. They are gracious, kindhearted and so in love. You imagine them with very social lives, having friends over all the time, because they are just so jubilant to be around, of course they would have thousands of friends. It makes you want to hang out with them and “chill”. They are the “chill” kind.

For their wedding day, of course they picked the laid-back Moore Springs Manor, an amazingly gorgeous piece of NC Heaven in Westfield, NC. A hop-skip-jump from the Triad, it is so worth the 45-minute drive from Greensboro. You start to wonder where these curvy country roads are taking you and then WHAM! The impressive view of Pilot Mountain slaps you in the face. You can’t help but exhale and relax just being there. Let me kick up my boots and drink something out of a mason jar and I’m happy.

The Manor, the fields, the gardens, the barns and the newly added event space are the perfect setting for an intimate North Carolina event! The personal touches are what made this day so special, and the beautiful bridesmaids dresses! Homemade table numbers made from old address numbers, pallet photos, and so much more! Check out Abby & Kasey’s wedding, it was an honor to be a part of their “Chill” Day … and as their sign says, it was the Best. Day. Ever. Drew + Amanda: Summerfield Wedding Planner

19 Nov

I got a call from the Mother of the Groom some months back. Her only son, Drew, was getting married to Amanda and she thought they may need some help. They lived a little out of town, getting married back home, so having someone here to help coordinate last minute details was important.

After a delightful conversation with the MOG, it was a go! I was so excited to get to working with them as I could tell right off the bat that they were a family I wanted to help celebrate.

A month before the ceremony I got a call from the MOG. There had been a terrible accident. At a pre-wedding Bachelor celebration, two groomsman were hit by a drunk driver as they were walking on the sidewalk. One didn’t make it, and one was still seriously injured. My heart fell to a million piece as I felt for them. They were planning a huge celebration, and the guy that was to be standing beside Drew wouldn’t be there…… it was tough.

Bullock_Sykes_Kelly_Rae_Stewart_Photography_i5Kz85rSThe day came and the bridal party all had him with them throughout the day. A huge Boston Red Sox fan, the lost friend was remembered and there in spirit through Red Sox pins on all the groomsman and as part of every bridesmaid’s lantern. The day was beautiful, and there was an extra angel singing from the heavens as part of this joyful union.

The love. The passion. The excitement. The joy. This day was filled with all the ingrediants to a perfect day.  The other groomsman, still on crutches, reminded everyone there just how precious life is and when you find Love…. you must not only grab hold — but ENJOY and thrive in every second of it…. that’s what sharing your life with someone is all about!

I am so blessed to have been a part of Drew and Amanda’s magical wedding day at The Gardens of Gray Gables. The artsy details and unique touches truly personalized this event. I wish them nothing but love, joy and only tears of happiness in their future together!

Thank you to a truly spectacular team of vendors, including the talented Kelly Rae Stewart Photography for allowing us to share these beautiful photos!

Brendan + Erin : True Southern Soiree Atlanta Style

14 Oct

Traditional. Southern. Black Tie.

These are the words we kept on the front of the planning folder for Erin and Brendan’s big Southern affair in the capital of the South. Home to sweet tea, Chick-fil-a, Coca Cola, sweet peaches and the world’s busiest airport. That’s right, we were heading to Atlanta…. more specifically Buckhead.

There is something charming about tBROERE__0764he old Southern city of Atlanta. It always makes me think of the show Designing Women. With their fine southern accents and full knowledge of Emily Post’s Etiquette rules… the South truly knows how to host a party and accommodate their guests. Erin and Brendan’s wedding weekend was no different, treating their guests to true Southern charm.

When Brendan and Erin got engaged, they knew they wanted a formal Atlanta affair…. black tie. The bride is a nurse who grew up in North Carolina and the groom is a lawyer from Georgia. The young couple made their home in Buckhead Atlanta.

They wanted to incorporate timeless elegance into their day. When we met for their design consultation, we were so excited to look over aisles and aisles and more aisles of décor items from A Legendary Event in Atlanta. Their warehouse was our dream come true for this event. We decided on sterling silver containers for the centerpieces, taper candles, candelabras and lush floral design. Neutral colors and flickering candlelight made the entire space glow. It was traditional Southern style and I loved every single detail.

Carrying out the True Southern Affair, the guests were met at cocktail hour with two bars, a “His Bar”, which featured whiskey and a “Her’s Bar” with Gelato Champagne coolers. Guests could also partake in a Whiskey Tasting upstairs and a Cigar Bar on the large estate’s porch.

After a decadent dinner and lots of dancing, guests enjoyed a late night pizza slice before loading up the buses to head back to their hotel. It was a truly elegant, timeless affair for one of the most beautiful couples.

Thank you to Bill Broere and Lauren from Bill Broere Photography for capturing the details and sharing the beautiful photos!

0009 c&b 10.13 sm0012 c&b 10.13 smWe designed a wedding that would be casual, comfortable and welcoming… a true southern soiree for a couple raised in small town, Carolina. It was just what the couple wanted for their family and friends.

0634 c&b 10.13 smCourtney and Brice were true high school sweethearts. After 7 ½ years together, Courtney and Brice were standing at the alter to become husband and wife. As cute as they can be, Courtney teaches middle school art and Brice works for a family trucking business as well as serving in the Air National Guard.0060 c&b 10.13 sm

The ceremony sat on the large sprawling farmland of the Petty Family (Richard Petty, racing legend), now known as Adaumont Farm. As you drive through the large iron gates and over the stone bridge on the tree-lined road, it’s something out of a movie. You notice beautiful white fencing holding grazing horses, large trees that have been on the land for a long time and nothing but the North Carolina sky! The ceremony was on a lovely piece of this land that overlooks the beautiful lake and quant covered bridge, under the wooden pergola. As her mother walked the beautiful bride down the long grassy aisle, the sun gave her a stunning glow…. or perhaps she was just a blushing bride. Continue reading

John Austin and Tori : A NC Mountain Wedding

Roaring Gap ClubJohn Austin & Tori
Roaring Gap Club
Roaring Gap, NC

As I drove up to the Roaring Gap Club, I was awestruck by the beautiful stone building that reminded me of something straight out of Dirty Dancing. Sitting a top a mountain in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the clubhouse was surrounded with panoramic views of the beautiful smokies. I was waiting for Jennifer Grey to come out the door any minute.

The Boat HouseThis was the perfect setting for John Austin and Tori to host their guests, who were traveling in from all over the world. The bride is from Raleigh, the couple now lives in Chicago, and the Groom’s grandmother is a member of this club. The location had everything the couple needed to enjoy their day. Cabins for guests to stay in, a beautiful patio for a quant bridal luncheon, and a beauty shop for the girls to primp in that is reminisce of the 1950s.Beauty Parlour Fun

Bridesmaids in NavyAs the bridesmaids’ put on their elegant navy dresses and gathered their bright yellow bouquets, the eclectic guests gathered on the lawn of the club, overlooking the valley. The ceremony was beautiful, complete with handwritten, personal vows.Bouquets from Amy Dunlap OriginalsCater-552

Lindsay + David: JH Adams Inn

15 Jan

image_2Lindsay and Dave Thomas were married at J.H. Adams Inn in High Point, NC this past Summer. David is a good ole’ country boy — trying to make it to MLB — and Lindsay is a Physician Liaison. They met and were raised in the same community.

Rugged meets Class!  This event was anything but ordinary. What we loved most was their unique ability to incorporate their own style, pieces of their “story” and their fun-filled details throughout their event. It was what made it so extraordinary. David’s love of sports was showcased throughout the event, beginning when the guest were asked to “autograph” a wooden bat in place of a traditional guest book.

Some would say they couldn’t be more opposite… especially when you’re raised to pull for different rival teams. David’s family pride themselves as HUGE Duke fans and Lindsay’s family wears Carolina blue. I knew she was head-over-heels when Lindsay chose to symbolize marrying into a Duke family by hiding Duke Blue pom poms under each seat and the Duke Fight Song as their introductions were made.  Imagine a sea of Duke blue split with snarls from the Carolina side. What a wonderful way to start this playful reception!

From good ole’ Karaoke to Krispy Kreme doughnuts for the ride home,  this wedding was energetic, fun and memorable. Thank you Adam Mowery Photography for capturing it all for us!

October 27, 2012
Greensboro, NC

This couple is so precious! The bride, Stacey, is tiny with a HUGE personality and even bigger southern accent. The groom, Patrick, has a calming and laid-back demeanor.  Together, their vibrant relationship shined through their wedding. Bright orange and purple were fun Fall colors for a beautiful and very colorful event. At first, you may think, “Whoa, that’s bright” … but

It’s the perfect example that you can do whatever you want for your wedding, and with the right touches… you can pull it off!

The ceremony and reception were set at Revolution Mills Studios in Greensboro, NC. The rustic and updated space looked beautiful with the bright colors! Guests partied down to the jams of K2 Productions while eating Pepper Moon deliciousness. The event was captured beautifully by 2 & 3 Photography. We had a number of awesome vendors for this event.
